This Ceylon Gunpowder Tea is of exceptionally good quality. It is classed as a High Grown or "Udarata" tea from one of the top estates in Sri Lanka's Central Province.
The tightness of the pellets produces an excellent flavour which is released when the tea leaves start to infuse. It is only produced in limited quantities as tightly rolling the leaves in this way takes a lot of time and skill. As a high grown tea, the flavour and full bodied profile achieved with this tea is superb.
Ceylon Gunpowder Tea has an aroma with a hint of oakiness, a vegetal full bodied profile and a nutty flavour.
