Xue Yu Lan Xiang Oolong (雪玉兰香乌龙 - Snow Magnolia Fragrance) is a hand picked Dan Cong (单枞 - Single Bush) Oolong picked from a 65 year old tea tree on the slopes of Phoenix Mountain (凤凰山 - Feng Huang Shan) in China's Guangdong Province.
The Hanzi 雪 (Xue - snow) indicates that the tea was harvested in Winter.
The tea leaves are picked by hand and then left to wither in the sun, before further withering indoors. They are partially fermented in a large pile overnight and then follows a process of firing to increased temperatures (180°C degrees and 230°C) and rolling (which releases essential oils) which give the tea it's "Dancong taste"
This tea belongs to the orchid aroma category of oolongs and has an aroma of rich, intense, magnolia blossoms. The leaves are picked from an older line of trees, so there is little astringency. The sweet, lingering honey taste is one that you will not forget.
