Originally called Bara Ringtong when the tea estate was set up in Darjeeling the 1830s, it was named Margaret's Hope Tea Estate in the 1920s after the daughter of the estates founder.
A distinctive 'muscatel' flavour, with hints of blackcurrants create an almost wine like taste, points to this tea being a 2nd flush harvest. with a tea leaf grade of Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe (TGFOP). Margaret's Hope makes a wonderful afternoon tea - great with scones and raspberry preserve!
